This is so bizarre. I’m writing this update the day after posting my last Friday blog post. The reason is that I will be traveling this coming week, but while I’m gone, the Beta Reader will be reading. So I don’t know if this post will be either be titled Updates or New Release. We are so close! The target publication date is June 1st, 2016.
The Long Game is a particularly long book. It’s the size of a normal Haunted Series book and a novella combined. Why so long? When I write the Haunted Series, I let the characters take me places. I never thought Mia and Murphy would end up in one particular place, but the story went there, and so did I.
It started with a request from a reader. “Please tell us how Sheriff John Ryan and Father Paolo Santos met?” And as I was writing their story, I found that this was the perfect book to open up the vault and give you an oh my gosh moment - maybe two, depending on how you look at it. I’m really excited about The Long Game. It brought me a couple of characters, I really had fun with, and my crazy perspective comes into play. I really enjoyed writing this one. I enjoyed writing them all, but this one launched me out of bed very early in the morning and held on to me longer than the freshness of my pajamas, oy.
While I was waiting for the Red Pen’s edit, I decided to write a book with Cid Garrett on his own. Coincidently, the working title is called Cid. I’m pleased to announce that the first draft is finished - on what I thought would be a novella, but it’s a bit long in the page count for that. For the sake of classification, we’ll call this a novella. In Cid, I take Cid away from his comfort zone and back into the world of construction. He joins up with his pal Jesse, who has been working on the renovation of a 1920’s era mansion called Hidden Meadows. If you recall in Renovation, PEEPs warned us about tearing up old homes. Sometimes it wakes the dead. And if I was enjoying a fifty-plus year slumber, I would be pretty cranky upon waking up.
I will let you know more about Cid as we get closer to publication. I’d like to make it a series running alongside the Haunted Series. How does Cid Garrett P.I. (Paranormal Investigator) sound?
