Haunted Series

The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow

(Haunted Series Book 1)

Little Mia Cooper’s ability to see the dead made her an outcast in her hometown. Several years later, she has finally managed to blend in, but her hard-won peace is threatened by the arrival of a bumbling team of paranormal investigators. Mia is drawn in reluctantly as an adviser on what, at first, seems to be a fairly straightforward case, only to discover that the Hollow has much more in store for her. An ancient evil is rising in Cold Creek Hollow. What begins as a ghost hunt will become a fight for survival.

“The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow” is book one of Alexie Aaron's 34 book and growing “Haunted Series.”

Ghostly Attachments

(Haunted Series Book 2)

It isn’t the chair rocking by itself that sends the young family fleeing in the middle of the night. It’s when it stops rocking and all hell breaks loose. This family needs help. Enter PEEPs (Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners) armed with the latest hi-tech gear and the ghost communication abilities of Mia Cooper. But this isn’t a normal case. Some of the ghosts aren’t playing fair. Some of them are armed.

Mia’s attention is divided between this case and her friend Sabine who has gone missing during an out-of-body walkabout. Can she pull it all together in time to save Sabine from a narcissistic collector and help PEEPs to survive the destructive forces that have come to play via their ghostly attachments?

“Ghostly Attachments” is the sequel to the popular paranormal adventure “The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow.”

Sand Trap

(Haunted Series Book 3)

Not all sand traps occur on the links. Some may be found on a popular beach or lonely stretch of highway.

A sensitive and two ghost hunters walk into a bar. The barman is silent and the barflies long dead. Sounds like the start of a joke, but it’s not. An active haunt in a derelict biker bar on Route 66 is a dream come true for the PEEPs team until it turns violent. An SOS is sent to Mia Cooper who hits the open road with her ghostly pal Murphy riding shotgun. Together, they try to enter the haunted building only to be repelled by the building itself. They can’t get in, and the ghosts can get out.

Courtney Fairchild wanted a rich husband and wasn’t going to let a little thing like death stand in her way. Hit by lightning as she walked along an exclusive Floridian beach, her soul was fused together with the sand, creating a beautiful specimen of fulgurite, which finds a home at the Chicago Field Museum. Released into the museum, Courtney roams from display to display, looking for a way out of her glass prison.

Join Mia and the PEEPs team on an adventure from the cultural confines of Chicago’s Field Museum down Route 66 to Lucky’s Bar where evil is always on tap.

"Sand Trap" is the third of the "Haunted Series."

Eternal Maze: PEEPs Lite 3.1

(Haunted Series)

October thirtieth is a beautiful day. Partly cloudy skies top the Carver County Corn Maze where Ted Martin is testing his new micro-com technology on the determined puzzle solvers. It’s a beautiful view from the spotter’s tower with all the colorful flags dancing above the cornstalks, marking the progress of the individual groups. But one flag hasn’t moved in a while. It was issued to two teenage couples and their two young charges. Upon further investigation, Ted discovers that the group has disappeared with the exception of the lone flag bearer who lies dead on the ground.

Ted, fearing that more than a possible kidnapping has occurred, calls Mia who rushes to help in the search. Within a few minutes, Ted’s instincts are proven true. There are paranormal entities at play in the corn, and they’re playing for keeps.

Join Mia, Murphy and the PEEPS team as they investigate the "Eternal Maze."

Homecoming PEEPs Lite 3.2

(Haunted Series)

On the heels of “Eternal Maze” PEEPs Lite 3.1 is “Homecoming” PEEPs Lite 3.2. This is a character-driven personal haunt written just in time for the holidays.

Mike, the face of Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners (PEEPs), has led with his Hollywood jaw, projecting his good looks while hiding a very important secret from his colleagues. He’s been haunted since he was a child. This may have been the impetus behind him co-founding PEEPs, but it has also kept him from enjoying a good night’s sleep.

After accepting a job offer to go through Mike’s mother’s estate, Mia discovers that Mike’s personal haunt has ties to the ghost town that is Lund, Illinois. Can Mia, Murphy and the PEEPs team uncover the hidden secrets of a town long dead in time to save the life of one of their own?

Darker than Dark

(Haunted Series Book 4)

Gwen hates the dark. Most children do, but she has more reasons than most. At night when the lights go out, entities that are darker than dark crawl out of the woodwork and torment her. A call to mommy brings relief as the lights go on and the darker than darks scurry away. But not tonight. A thunderstorm leaves her family without electricity, without light, vulnerable to those who thrive on darkness.

Meanwhile, Murphy is noticing that spirits of the Iroquois and Fox tribes from the 1650s are massing in the north woods of his land. Why are they there? What do they have to do with Gwen’s tormenters? All will be answered as Mia and the PEEPs team, with the help of Angelo Michaels ("Ghostly Attachments"), investigate this haunting and shine light on what is truly darker than dark.

This is book four of the "Haunted Series."

The Garden

(Haunted Series Book 5)

The PEEPs team (Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners) has finally taken on a paying investigation. The owner of an isolated mansion wishes to donate the lease of the property to be used as an abuse shelter. There’s only one problem, it’s haunted. From the maids perpetually making up the beds to a banshee screaming in the upper hall, this house is more than hot with activity, it’s boiling.

Mia, Murphy and the team take on ghosts who not only want to harm each other but all those who tread upon the floorboards of their home. They no sooner rest one ghost when two more pop up. It’s a whack-a-mole game with dangerous consequences.

A house filled to the brim with paranormal activity is one thing, but then there’s the garden…

This is the fifth book in the "The Haunted Series.”

Puzzle

(Haunted Series Book 6)

A group of teenage boys enter an abandoned middle school with larceny on their minds. The tables are quickly turned when an entity of great power locks them in and forces them to play his puzzle games. Dave (“Sand Trap”), who is violently tossed out because he can see the ghost, calls Mia for help, fearing police involvement.

The Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners arrive to help, but they find the building will only allow the guys in. The men venture in while Mia and Murphy are stuck outside unable to help them. The PEEPS must rely on their combined abilities and intelligence if they are going to defeat the ghost of Clinton Middle School and rescue the teenagers.

Meanwhile, Mia, Dave and Murphy encounter a ragtag group of ghostly soldiers from the Civil War outside. They too want to get into the school, but for a far more sinister reason.

Join the PEEPs team as they put together the pieces of this ghostly puzzle.

“Puzzle” is the sixth book of the “Haunted Series.”

Old Bones

(Haunted Series Book 7)

Every family has a few skeletons in their closet.

Meeting the future in-laws has Mia in a panic. She’d rather face a horde of marauding ghosts than make polite conversation with the 150 relatives and friends that have arrived to check her out.

“If you are reading this, then I, Giuseppe Basso, am dead. I have been murdered.”

Audrey, the newest member of the PEEPs family, finds the ominous note under a beautifully carved grandfather clock and is determined to solve the mystery behind it. Unfortunately, the ghostly patriarch of the Basso family has other ideas and will stop at nothing to bury the scandal.

Mia’s father has gone missing while investigating a link between a western Missouri tribe and the ancient city of Cahokia. He has been abducted by a time walker hell-bent on finding out why his memory was erased from time. Mia, Murphy and PEEPs rush down to St. Louis to pick up the trail of the time walker.

“Old Bones” is about families, the ones we are born with and the ones we choose. It starts with a good, old-fashioned, haunted-house investigation and moves on to a paranormal adventure that crosses state lines but time lines too. This is the seventh full-length novel in the “Haunted Series.”

Things that Go Bump in the Night

(Haunted Series Book 8)

Ladies and gentlemen, The Jewel Theater proudly presents for your reading enjoyment “Things that Go Bump in the Night,” starring Cherry O’Kelly, a burlesque performer whose career was cut short in her prime. A consummate professional, Cherry doesn't let a little thing like death get in the way of a good bump and grind. Enjoy the pageantry while you can because something evil is coming to the theater.

Next up on the haunt parade is the Rosemont Hotel. It is reputed to be fraudulently haunted. Its owner - plagued by bumps in the night - has sought out help and has been turned down by all the reputable ghost-hunting teams in the area except for one, PEEPs. Burt has a gut feeling about the hotel. Will Burt’s instincts alone be enough to find out what is really going on at the Rosemont?

Since you’ve been such a good audience, I have another treat in store for you. What do the Caribbean, crypts and courtrooms have in common? The answer is Beverly Cooper. Mia’s aunt has returned and has brought with her… Oops, that would be telling.

Pull up a chair, and open the book. The show is about to start…

“Things that Go Bump in the Night,” is the eighth novel in the “Haunted Series” following “Old Bones.”

Something Old

(Haunted Series Book 9)

In this ninth novel of the Haunted Series:

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, a wedding looms on the horizon. Mia and Ted have cold feet, but it’s not from wedding jitters. It’s from tramping through the woods in search of the nightly marauders who have been haunting the small community adjacent to the forest. Six lost souls have been spotted. Can Mia and the PEEPs team help these children before the ghosts become more destructive?

Just when Mia and Ted think they are out of the woods, Sheriff Ryan pulls them back in. “Nothing good ever came out of Sentinel Woods.” This warning echoes in Mia’s mind as she, Ted and Murphy search for seven missing teenagers. Their hunt takes the couple deep into a hundred acres of sinkholes, quicksand and ancient trees, all governed by a vengeful deadly spirit.

Meanwhile, Ralph has been planning a “respectable spectacle” of a wedding for the young couple. With him in charge, it’s full steampunk ahead.

Come join the PEEPs for fun, horror, and perhaps a happily ever after…

Checking Out PEEPs Lite 9.1

(Haunted Series)

Are all rules made to be broken? And if so, what are the consequences? Burt has just broken his number one rule in paranormal investigating, never hunt alone, and he’s regretting it.

The ghost hotel, the Dew Drop Inn, has been serving the lost travelers of southern Wisconsin for decades. It provides a bed and breakfast to the lost and weary traveler, then disappears the next day never to be seen by the guests again. Burt has been interested in this urban legend for quite some time. He caught the scent of the fabled ghost inn and took off without out informing his fellow Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners, and now he’s missing. Fortunately, his obsessive method of tracking the B&B has left a trail of muffin crumbs for Mia, Murphy and the PEEPs team to follow. Will they find him in time, or will Burt become a permanent guest of the hotel and not be checking out?

Join the team as they investigate the Dew Drop Inn in the PEEPS Lite novella 9.1 “Checking Out.”

Ice and Steel PEEPs Lite 9.2

(Haunted Series)

Naomi Seeley woke at three a.m. to a chorus of moans and screams coming from the walls of her posh condo. Was the plumbing protesting the brutal Chicago winter? Were the icicle-draped eaves moaning for spring? Or was Naomi’s past reaching out to hurt her?

As a favor to Alan Jefferies (“The Garden”), Mia and Audrey step in to consult, and after one of the residents is attacked, they recommend that PEEPs do a full investigation. PEEPs barely get unpacked when one of the team is attacked. Whatever has permeated the steel of the building wants them and the residents to leave, but why?

Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they investigate what really is going on in the walls of the Uptown in the PEEPs lite novella 9.2 “Ice and Steel.”

The Middle House: Return to Cold Creek Hollow

(Haunted Series Book 10)

Unfinished business, we all have it. Projects left undone, a garden yet to be weeded, an email needing to be sent. In Mia’s case, it’s Cold Creek Hollow. It has been two years since the horrors there were successfully dealt with. But what happened to the ghosts that retreated to the sanctuary of the houses? Should she let sleeping ghosts lie?

In the middle house, an evil stirs behind its stone walls. It calls to its minions, gathering its forces. Mia is alerted to the gathering by a spirit tracker, one of a pair of spectral bounty hunters who have been following the path of a powerful soul-jumper who has arrived in the hollow.

Join PEEPs as old friends and new reunite in Cold Creek Hollow to battle what lies inside the middle house.

“The Middle House: Return to Cold Creek Hollow” is Alexie Aaron’s tenth novel of the “Haunted Series.”

Renovation

(Haunted Series Book 11)

It’s do-it-yourself season, and the DIY projects are in full swing with enthusiastic homeowners tearing down walls, sanding old floors and waking up ghosts. “It should be called DYI for do-yourself-in,” Mia commented as the calls for PEEPs flood the switchboards and crash their computers. Or did something else crash them?

Meanwhile, Angelo searches for the soul of his lost friend. If there is the faintest possibility that Father Santos is still alive, Angelo pledges to find him, even if it means his own demise.

Pick up your hammer, or box of salt, and join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they navigate the dangerous territory of home renovation.

“Renovation” is the 11th novel of the “Haunted Series,” following “The Middle House: Return to Cold Creek Hollow.”

Mind Fray

(Haunted Series Book 12)

On a quiet street in the suburbs of Chicago sits an ordinary ranch home built in the sixties. Inside, a young couple rests comfortably until there is a scratch at the door…

Something inhabits the Madisons’ home. It feeds off of memories and produces hallucinations that will isolate and confuse the ghost hunters until it can get its hands on them. The physicality of the presence sends pregnant Mia to the bench, in this case, the command center. The other PEEPs no sooner step inside the door before they are greeted with their worst nightmares. Even Murphy is plagued by demons of his past.

With Mia sidelined, and Murphy unable to function, PEEPs accept the help of Father Santos’s group. They too have never dealt with an entity as powerful as this. But don’t worry, Gerald Shem knows a guy who knows a guy…

Open the book if you dare. Stare boldly into the eyes of a mentalist so strong, he reaches out from the grave to enslave you. Beware, he is in your mind already!

Mind Fray is the 12th novel of the “Haunted Series.” It follows “Renovation.”

The Siege

(Haunted Series Book 13)

The dropping temperatures herald the coming of the holidays in northern Illinois. There are trees to be trimmed and packages to be wrapped. Mia is taking it easy while the PEEPs struggle with an infestation of poltergeists. Meanwhile, Big Bear Lake braces for the approach of the first winter storm. Two feet of snow is expected. Murphy has cut enough wood for four winters, so there is little worry about the approaching storm.

But the storm that is approaching is one no one can prepare for. It has little to do with snowflakes, but the fast accumulation of them isn't helping. This holiday the “unexpected visitor” won’t be leaving the Martin household with presents under the tree, but taking something back with him, something or someone very valuable.

Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they face undefeatable odds in “The Siege,” the 13th novel of the “Haunted Series.”

NOLA

(Haunted Series Book 14)

Favors, be careful asking for them because they have to be repaid. Repaying her debt, Gerald Shem has sent Mia to New Orleans, Louisiana to be part of a team of sensitives and psychics who were coming together to aid in the crossing of lost spirits. Mia assumed that she was just replacing a team member who had fallen ill, but there is more at stake in the Big Easy than it appears. A soul eater has been released in the French Quarter, and according to Judge Roumain, only Mia has the skills to fight it.

Meanwhile, the PEEPs are investigating the Little Goodwin Village Library where a bevy of ghosts have entered and have yet to check out. Without Mia, they have to do things the old-school way, relying on Murphy to communicate with the dead.

Separated from each other, Mia and PEEPS will be tested to see if they have what it takes to cross the lost and, in Mia’s case, survive NOLA.

“NOLA” is the 14th full-length novel of the “Haunted Series.”

Never Forget

(Haunted Series Book 15)

Never forget that there are things in the first push of a thunderstorm that are dangerous to you: hail, plow winds, and Wanderers. These spirits cross the plains with the weather fronts. They are looking to feed off of the energy of creatures, living and dead, who have been foolhardy enough to be caught outside in the rain.

The driving rain of Illinois can stop a lot of things too. This time, it’s a semi-trailer truck carrying a pair of African elephants who become lost and can’t forget that they have been hurt. They are haunted by memories, and in Bilbo’s case, the ghost of his former maniacal trainer. Tom Braverman has asked Murphy to help him locate these creatures before they hurt someone in their panic or are preyed upon by hunters. Mia joins them, and soon she is guiding them to a place where the elephants will be safe, knowing she will have to face an old foe there first.

Never forget that that there are some entities that won’t give up, that are willing to team up with humans in order to break and drive Mia towards them.

Most importantly, never forget that someone loves you and will move Heaven and Earth to keep you from harm.

Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they navigate rural Illinois, an abandoned shopping mall, and things best not forgotten in “Never Forget,” the 15th “Haunted Series” novel.

The Old House

(Haunted Series Book 16)

It’s summertime and Mia needs a break. The Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners are offered a stay at Price Hills Resort, a ski lodge with a hundred and four rooms, located at the top of one of the best non-mountainous ski runs in Wisconsin. Of course, it’s not the right season for fun in the snow, and this isn’t a vacation. PEEPs has been hired to clear the hotel of paranormal activity (mysterious slamming doors, ghostly and violent bar patrons) before they open as a family-friendly destination. The gondola will be shut down after their arrival, so PEEPs will be working in isolation with no escape but a trek on foot down difficult terrain. And the thunder is growing ever louder.

Mia and Ted have been weathering a storm of their own but still need to find shelter, a place to mend and heal without the interference of friend and foe. They pack up Brian and head to a cottage on Wolf’s Head Lake, a dead zone for cellphones and computers but a place to rest and concentrate on themselves for a change. There is just one thing in the way: the old house.

It’s just an old wreck of a building, clapboard with a stone foundation, the windows long gone, and nature has begun to settle in. It has been abandoned for too many years, but the roofline is straight and the foundation is good. Twelve-year-old Mark Leighton discovers it on the way to his favorite fishing hole and is strangely drawn to it. It consumes his thoughts during the day and calls to him at night. He tries to resist.

But the old house calls; the old house wants; the old house gets.

Pack up your sunscreen and shorts and join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they investigate “The Old House,” in the 16th novel of the “Haunted Series.”

Restitution

(Haunted Series Book 17)

Restitution: The restoration of something lost or stolen to its proper owner. Recompense for injury or loss. The restoration of something to its original state.*

Agent Whitney Martin’s PERT (Paranormal Entity Research Team) has gone missing in western Illinois. Tom Braverman and PEEPs have been called in to assist in the recovery operation. They are pitted against a ghost so powerful that he can manipulate both time and people. Within hours of their arrival, Audrey and Murphy disappear. Have they too fallen under the influence of the ghost? Are they part of the restitution the ghost wants so desperately to have?

With every situation, there is a resolution, but with every crime, there is a restitution that must be made. A memory vault containing Mia’s missing five years opens, and with it comes the recollection of crimes for which she finds herself accountable. She seeks the advice of a trusted friend, and together, they must stand before the demon court.

Mia has endured the changes brought upon her by her unstable genes. Can she be restored to what she once was, or will she be denied her restitution?

Come and join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs in the 17th “Haunted Series” novel. They’ve been waiting for you.

A Rose by Any Other Name

(Haunted Series Book 18)

Who knowingly buys a haunted mansion in Chicago? A mansion so haunted that not even a developer will touch it? PEEPs originating partner Mike Dupree’s mother, Glenda, knows a deal when she sees it. This beautiful rose-brick mansion has stood since the Chicago fire. The interior is pristine, and the neighborhood is rapidly becoming the place to live in the Windy City. Glenda enters into a provisional sale on Rouston Rose and hires the Paranormal Entity Exposure Partners to clean house. They have one month to identify the problem and escort whomever is haunting the mansion out. If it can’t be done, Glenda is out a packet of money.

From the moment Mia steps into the house, she knows something is wrong. Her intuition has left her, and her ability to communicate silently with Murphy is gone. Whatever resides there is so powerful that it has crippled the most powerful sensitive of her generation. The PEEPs prepare the house for a full investigation while the wind howls outside. Chicago is forecast to have a mild blizzard, if a blizzard can be mild.

Almost immediately, Mia, Cid, and Murphy are taken by the resident ghost Renee. While the snow accumulates outside, the PEEPs struggle to unlock the mystery of the house and get their people back. But Renee is just one petal on the rose of evil that lives and thrives in Roustan Rose.

Come, pull on your warmest sweater, find an afghan to pull around you, and pour a warm cup of your favorite beverage to guard you from the cold. Why? Because A Rose by Any Other Name holds chilling secrets.

“A Rose by Any Other Name” is the 18th novel in Alexie Aaron’s “Haunted Series.”

The Long Game

(Haunted Series Book 19)

An unusual messenger appears at Mia’s farm during a spring storm. “Tell him all weren’t lost in the Cardamom Mountains,” he says and is suddenly gone, swept up in a swirling eddy of rain and leaves. The message is intended for both Sheriff John Ryan and Father Santos. It prompts the two, along with Mia and Murphy, to return to the place they first met, Cambodia.

Meanwhile, the Big Bear Lake cemetery is vandalized, and bodies are found to be missing from the Weller mausoleum. To make matters worse, the deputy in charge of the investigation quickly becomes missing too. Acting-Sheriff Tom Braverman deputizes Ted, Cid and Ed to find his deputy. What dangerous game are these spirits playing with both the living and the dead?

Mia has avoided the corrupted ground of the Big Bear Lake cemetery all her life since she was found screaming at the crossroads of the graveyard when she was a young child. She tries to stay out of this investigation, but there is another restless spirit there who will only deal with her. This brings her back to the graveyard to face her greatest fear, in a fight that she may not win. Will her nemesis claim her, or will Mia survive another encounter with the countess?

Come and join Mia, Murphy, PEEPs, and friends as they navigate through the supernatural and the paranormal worlds to discover what “The Long Game” has been all along. Who are the players, and who are the pieces? And who will survive the game?

“The Long Game” is the 19th novel of the “Haunted Series.”

Given Enough Rope

(Haunted Series Book 20)

The sky darkens, bad weather is coming in…

In an old, renovated, stone silo, set atop a granite shelf overlooking a gravel pit, ropes hang from the walls. Attached to them are student climbers, including Dieter and Mark Leighton, two teens under the watchful eye of Mia who has brought young Brian along with her. Bad weather moves in, bringing with it more than lightning, rain, and wind. Three things travel in lightning storms: they are Wanderers, dark wizards, and demons. Two of the three are headed for the silo. Can a very pregnant Mia protect the people trapped within? Will Ted, Cid, and Murphy arrive in time to save them?

In Chicago, beyond the velvet rope stands The Eighty-eight, a piano bar owned by Ralph’s friend Dash. He has requested PEEPs help in discovering who is haunting his new bar. So far, a few Irish ghosts have made their presence known, and the only casualties are a few broken bottles of alcohol. Upon PEEPs’ arrival, an entity of unknown origin is discovered. It brings with it a wave of grief so strong that it cannot be ignored. What is this Dark Watcher, and why is it there? Trouble comes in threes, and the supernatural aren’t the only threat for The Eighty-eight and PEEPs. Can they get to the heart of the matter before all is lost?

Meanwhile in Big Bear Lake, the unimaginable has happened. Someone has ghost-napped Edwin, the beloved ghost of the Gifford house, and Bea White, the new owner, wants him back. Tom Braverman steps in to lead the investigation. He hopes that, given enough rope, the kidnappers will reveal themselves, and Edwin will be rescued. But things are never as simple as they seem, and like the nature of rope, the investigation is twisted and full of knots.

“Given Enough Rope” is the 20th book of the “Haunted Series.”

The Return

(Haunted Series Book 21)

Mia is experiencing the normal life she’s dreamed about. A mother of three. “Did the last one have to be born in the snow?” Parent teacher conferences. “What do you mean Dieter is flunking English?” Trips to the library. “Why is this ghost throwing books at me?”

Acting-Sheriff Tom Braverman’s life isn’t going much better.  His mother has kicked him out of the house, and the teen he’s mentoring is being targeted by a psychopath.

“The Return” is about returns, whether they are souls, spirits, or feathers. Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they navigate the perils that come when the past returns with a vengeance.

“The Return,” is the 21st book of the popular “Haunted Series.”

Risen

(Haunted Series Book 22)

In the French Caribbean, there is an island protected by a bountiful reef. Its sandy beach is pristine, and its shallow lagoon’s waters are warm and welcoming. It’s known to but a few, and only the greedy will give up its location.

Sabine and the Callen brothers, fresh from a disappointing trip to Guadeloupe in search of the George Wall pirate treasure, travel to the island to follow up on a clue buried in the maritime records. The moment their luxury sport yacht anchors, Sabine is overwhelmed with a sense of evil.

The Martins are looking forward to enjoying a few childfree days when Sabine calls Mia. She needs advice. Mia hears the panic in Sabine’s voice and seeks out answers. But the more she looks into the problem, the more it becomes apparent that Sabine is in mortal danger if she stays where she is.

Mia and Ted put together a small team to go extract Sabine and convince the Callens to leave the island. But they arrive too late, and now, not only is Sabine in danger, but so is the whole human race.

Set sail with Mia, Murphy and PEEPs as they set out to fight what has “Risen” in the French Caribbean. “Risen” is the 22nd book of the “Haunted Series.”

The Candle

(Haunted Series Book 23)

Have you ever woken up from a nightmare into a nightmare? Mia has. An innocent wish on a birthday candle by one of the PEEPs sends Mia twenty years into the past. She’s a thirty-two-year-old trapped in a twelve-year-old’s body. And to top it off, the only one who remembers the real time line is Murphy, and she and he haven’t been seeing eye to eye lately.

Trapped in this alternate time line with only the knowledge of her powers, but not being able to use them, she seeks out the only being who may possibly know who she is, Altair. But twenty years in the past, he’s a demon. Will he believe her?

Fear not, there is a solution. Mia must have the wisher break the candle the wish came from before the next full moon and all will revert back to this time. But who made the wish? It must be a PEEP, but it’s twenty years in the past. Where are they?

Join Mia and Murphy as they navigate an alternate time line to find the wisher and get the wisher to break the candle before she’s stuck there. Piece of cake? Birthday cake? Remember as you stare into the flame of the candle, be careful what you wish for.

“The Candle,” is the 23rd book of the “Haunted Series.”

Book of Souls

(Haunted Series 24)

Beverly Cooper has gone missing. Not an unusual occurrence if you know Bev, but Gerald Shem is concerned enough to bankroll sending PEEPs and the entire Martin household to Alsace, France to search for her. Mia looks at this as an opportunity for her young family and her to meet their relatives, the Neyers, before joining PEEPs on the investigation.

PEEPs arrive under the guise of investigating Château Nocturne, the last known place Bev was seen. Angelo and Father Santos fill in for the Martins and Murphy for the first investigation. Within minutes, the ghosts of the château show themselves, and in doing so, Cid Garrett is deafened by their screams and must be taken to Angelo’s aerie to save his hearing. The investigation is scrubbed until Mia, Ted and Murphy arrive to help out.

But this is more than a rescue mission and a paranormal investigation. There is something tying in Bev’s disappearance and the sanctuary the Neyers have run since the Roman Empire. On top of it, Mia’s intuition is off. She has developed the overwhelming fear that someone she trusts is trying to kill her. Is this a remnant of her past soul’s experience with the soul of her friend or a warning that this trip will end in her death?

Mia employs Cid to investigate whether she has a reincarnated soul and, if so, what happened to that soul to give her such horrible feelings. Only the “Book of Souls” has the answers…

This is the 24th novel of the “Haunted Series.”

A Daughter of Nyx

(Haunted Series Book 25)

Mia is more determined than ever to get her life in order. She’s seeing Baxter for cognitive behavioral therapy. No more accidental engagements, flirting with riffraff, and misunderstandings. Mia has turned over a new leaf. She’s determined to have a reasonably normal happy family life.

But the end of the world is coming. It’s sailing in on a cargo ship from Norway with Mia’s father Charles. Aside from the familial connection, what does this have to do with Mia? Maybe she shouldn’t have accepted all the gifts that were bestowed upon her in Alsace. Gifts from goddesses come with strings.

She won’t have to go it alone because she wasn’t the only one who should have been careful from whom one accepts help. He’s not the boss Mia’s looking forward to working for. Fortunately, Murphy, Victor and Altair will be there to aid her quest in doing the impossible and saving the world, right after she takes Brian to preschool.

Join Mia, Murphy and PEEPs on their 25th adventure in the “Haunted Series.”

Sideshow

(Haunted Series Book 26)

Mia has her hands full. She has a house brimming with males with nasty stomach viruses; Father Santos is pushing her to investigate a possible possession that she instinctually knows is dangerous to her and her unborn twins; and PEEPs is contracted to investigate with hot network adventure series “Wheels Up” in an amusement park with a sinister reputation. Although tempted to play the pregnancy card, Mia decides instead to stay in the game and fight for the victims of the sideshow.

Murphy is being targeted by a demonic mercenary. Is this connected to the “drain-game” Ted and Jake have in play, or is it something else? Mia and PEEPs will have to reach out to the most unlikely of allies in their time of need.

Life on this planet is a circus, and we are but sideshow freaks and oddities who live, love and learn.

“Sideshow” is the 26th book of the “Haunted Series.”

Crossroads

(Haunted Series Book 27)

The Martins are absolutely ready for the arrival of the twins. The house is finished, and Nanny Berta has arrived. This time, Mia is determined it will be a hospital delivery. Everyone, including Murphy, has looked at every contingency. Unfortunately, the paranormal world didn’t get the memo.

Paula and Noah Glynn’s house is haunted by a revenge-seeking ghost who has followed them from house to house. Paula seeks out help from Burt Hicks, and he and PEEPs start an investigation. The investigation becomes complicated when a terrorist element is discovered, and Whitney Martin and his federal paranormal investigation group arrive.

Up at Eagle’s Nest, Stephanie, an environmental blogger, has discovered that the lumberjacks are removing trees with nests in them. She takes pictures but is discovered and races home on her bicycle. She and a logging truck reach the narrow bridge at the same time. Stephanie chooses to ride the pedestrian walkway and is attacked by an entity hitching a ride on a logging truck. She is knocked into the river as the truck passes. Murphy races to help the submerged young woman, but moving water isn’t a ghost’s best friend.

Meanwhile, the truck, now under control of the entity, is racing towards the crossroads where Mia waits at the light. She sees the approaching truck and tries to move the PEEPs van out of harm’s way. The trucker regains control of the truck and tries to stop it, but the brakes lock up and it jackknifes, sending the trailer towards Mia. The last thing Mia hears before the trailer hits her is Murphy calling for help.

“Crossroads” is about family and the chaos involved in the welcoming of two new Martins into the fold while dealing with dangerous ghosts and a threat from the past who is determined to bring horror into Mia’s perfect little world.

“Crossroads” is the 27th book of the “Haunted Series.”

Sticks and Stones

“We’ve seen a lot of strange things, dealt with entities we didn’t know existed, and comforted a lot of homeowners who were haunted by ghosts. But there is one area that I’ve purposely steered us away from, and that is poltergeists.”

Burt Hicks decides to throw caution to the wind and tackle poltergeists. He brings PEEPs together to investigate two poltergeist incursions, one in the home of a stressed-out retired CEO and the other at a flat-track roller derby arena. Surprises and danger abound when the sticks and stones start dropping.

Mia is trying to find a balance between being a wife, mother, healer, and warrior. Raising her family safely sometimes takes more than a village. It takes… Well, that would be telling.

Smoke and Mirrors

(Haunted Series Book 31)

Ghosts are migrating from the west coast across America’s heartland to New York City. These aren’t your garden variety lost souls. Lorna Grainger and Tonia Toh have been dealing with these creatures alone since the disbandment of the Council of Women. They are overrun and need help.

Mia, Murphy and PEEPs travel to Virginia City where they hope to stop the flow of energized spirits and find out why they are migrating in the first place. When the ghosts start arming themselves, John Ryan and the federal task force under the command of Whitney Martin enter the equation.

Is this unrest a planned attack on the living, or is it just smoke and mirrors?

Meanwhile, back at home, Brian accidentally brings home a ghost…

Origins

(Haunted Series Book 32)

Everyone has an origin story, some more fanciful than others. The Fates weave them into their masterpieces using twisted colorful fibers. The once celebrated painter Dante Mauritz took the art world by storm before the bottle took him down a road to ruin, only to be rescued by the trustees of Ridgeford Community Center for the Arts. Mia Martin knew she was bred to be an assassin but didn’t know that a close friend was involved in her creation, a friend stilled by a dark wizard and the Potion of Isis.

Dante and Mia fight fate’s hold, one with a paintbrush, the other with a sword. One, fate will release from the tapestry, the second will be used to destroy the other.

“Origins” is the 32nd novel of the “Haunted Series.”

Loose Threads

(Haunted Series Book 33)

The Fates released Mia from their tapestry, warning her not to fly too far from where she wants to be. Mia starts to weave her own life’s story. But as most craftspeople know, when you do your own needlework, you end up with a lot of loose threads. In Mia’s tapestry of her life, sometimes leaving a loose thread could mean the difference between life and death.

Come along as Mia picks up the loose threads of her life. “Loose Threads” is the 33rd book of the “Haunted Series.”

Grave Matters

(Haunted Series Book 34)

Necromancy refers to any and all divination practices that involve the spirits of people who have passed on ~ Orion Stavros.

Someone has been disturbing graves across the Midwestern United States.  Concerned about Big Bear Lake Cemetery, Andy Carmichael is ordered to check out each mausoleum.  He doesn’t return, and now his night watchman Darrell is also missing.  Sheriff Braverman requests Mia and Murphy’s help in finding the missing men.  They arrive to find that someone has conjured a force field over the place, controlling the restless spirits within, and someone is trying to control Murphy.

Darkness is consuming Angelo Michaels.  He has kept it at bay for over thirty years with heroic acts and by fighting for the innocent of planet Earth.  But the source of the darkness will not leave him.  Mia determines that Angelo must return to Argentina to face what he did during the darkest day of his life, the day when he used his knowledge of necromancy to bring back his fiancée Gabriella Sandoval.  But he isn’t going alone.  Mia and Gerald Shem travel with him with hopes that their combined knowledge and power will help Angelo free himself from the darkness for once and for all.  There’s one problem, Angelo doesn’t want to be freed from Gabriella.  Mia isn’t going into this fight unprepared, but she’s also going into it with two people who don’t necessarily have her best interests at heart.

If this wasn’t enough to tax Mia, on the first day of school, Brian is called into the principal’s office, Cristian takes over the art store, the twins boo Mia when they see her, and Varden wishes to visit Hell.

The Family Business

(Haunted Series Book 36)

The Family Business opens with Mia, Ted, and PEEPs working on two continents.  Mia is filming another season of Enyo in rainy, mountainous Austria, where the mud is as deep as the storylines Mia is dealing with.  She also has to deal with a lady in white with an attitude, her friends as costars, and a director who is pushing to get the best performance out of her.

Back at home, Ted is looking for places to rent for his new startup business Romulus Mobile.  Ted and Patrick walk into a dealership and find it’s haunted and has been for over fifty years.  What’s more, the sale from 1965 is still going on.

If this long distance relationship isn’t hard enough on the Martins, someone is out to ruin the producer of Enyo by taking Mia down with well-crafted lies; Cid has written some salacious scenes; and Ted has decided, demons or not, they are going to investigate the dealership.

Join Mia and PEEPs as they navigate filmmaking and a multidimensional haunt and still manage to get the boys to school on time.

Angelo

“Evil will always present you with an easier path.  When you take these journeys, you will be pulled farther and farther from where the Fates want you.  The old witches will punish you.”

The olive groves of 1960 Italy produced more than a crop of the finest olives but also the deepest of heartaches.  Angelo, a hybrid boy of eight years, loses his human mother and finds out his future isn’t the one he assumed he would have.  His father Matteo, a birdman of royal lineage, doesn’t want a hybrid to inherit his estate.  He casts Angelo out of the security of the village of St. Michaels into a world controlled by fate, birdmen, and dark wizards.

Angelo is a deep dive into the past of one of my most enigmatic characters.  It’s great for new readers but also a must read for longtime fans of the Haunted Series.  Alexie Aaron
