Hello everyone, and welcome to the slightly redesigned Alexie Aaron website. Well, I, Aaron the WebGuy, would to take credit for it, I might have had some help along the way from Burt’s best friend Jake.

Here we are in mid-May. The trees are blooming, Ravens Rook is wearing a spring coat of new landscaping. Also, a new drive and walk has transported the house into the home we were looking for. Inside, the Webguy and I had an opportunity to catch up on all things Alexie with a new podcast. I enjoyed our talk, and I hope you will too.
We are also posting the final episode of Evil, my adult fairytale. Please feel free to comment. It’s not the usual Alexie Aaron fare, but, although written a long time ago, it seems very relevant to the world today.

The first draft of High Court, the second Cid Garret P.I. series novel, is finished, and I have handed it over to The Red Pen. She will start the editing process soon.
High Court
In this paranormal adventure, Cid is taking on a malevolent spirit at an old motor court renovation. I have brought back Kiki, Walrus, Scrub, and Faye to help solve the tragic cold case of a why a whole family was murdered in 1964. The ghost is seeking justice for her and her dead children, and she doesn’t care who gets hurt along the way. Cid must solve the crime before he has any hope of resting her angry spirit.
The idea for doing a motor court renovation came to me this past summer as hubby and I traveled up to Mackinac Island. There were so many small motels along the way. I wondered what story each of them had to share. One night, I had this dream. It involved a gallery, an old motel, and several visions of a murder. When I woke, I knew that I had to find a way of incorporating the dream into a book. I thought about Cid. He’s our everyman: if every man had super hearing, a handsome face, and killer body. (Phew, is it hot in here?)
Writing fiction in today’s environment is interesting. How much of the news filters into what an author writes about? How can one be fair when emotions are high? How much has changed between High Court’s cold case in 1964, and how much has remained the same? So many questions, but not all of them need to be answered. I had to remind myself that my job is to entertain you readers. After rereading High Court, I believe I managed to do so.

Presently, I’m busy writing the next Cid Garrett P.I. novel High Court. Even though the events of the real world keep seeping in, I’m concentrating on my job which is to entertain you all, hopefully taking you away from the problems at hand, if just for a moment.
My graphics team has come up with two covers for you to vote on. I know you’re sick of voting, but I’m sick of the green cover for Darker than Dark, so indulge me. We will be releasing a paperback and an audiobook early this year for the fourth novel of the Haunted Series, and I wanted a new cover. I couldn’t decide, so I’m going to ask you readers to help me.

The sky darkens, bad weather is coming in…
In an old renovated stone silo, set atop a granite shelf overlooking a gravel pit, ropes hang from the walls. Attached to them are student climbers, including Dieter and Mark Leighton, two teens under the watchful eye of Mia, who has brought young Brian along with her. Bad weather moves in, bringing with it more than lightning, rain, and wind. Three things travel in lightning storms: they are Wanderers, dark wizards, and demons. Two of the three are headed for the silo. Can a very pregnant Mia protect the people trapped within? Will Ted, Cid, and Murphy arrive in time to save them?
In Chicago, beyond the velvet rope stands The Eighty-eight, a piano bar owned by Ralph’s friend Dash. He has requested PEEPs help in discovering who is haunting his new bar. So far, a few Irish ghosts have made their presence known, and the only casualties are a few broken bottles of alcohol. Upon PEEPs’ arrival, an entity of unknown origin is discovered. It brings with it a wave of grief so strong that it cannot be ignored. What is this Dark Watcher, and why is it there? Trouble comes in threes, and the supernatural aren’t the only threat for The Eighty-eight and PEEPs. Can they get to the heart of the matter before all is lost?
Meanwhile in Big Bear Lake, the unimaginable has happened. Someone has ghost-napped Edwin, the beloved ghost of the Gifford house, and Bea White, the new owner, wants him back. Tom Braverman steps in to lead the investigation. He hopes that, given enough rope, the kidnappers will reveal themselves, and Edwin will be rescued. But things are never as simple as they seem, and like the nature of rope, the investigation is twisted and full of knots.
“Given Enough Rope” is the 20th book of the “Haunted Series.”
