The sky darkens, bad weather is coming in…
In an old renovated stone silo, set atop a granite shelf overlooking a gravel pit, ropes hang from the walls. Attached to them are student climbers, including Dieter and Mark Leighton, two teens under the watchful eye of Mia, who has brought young Brian along with her. Bad weather moves in, bringing with it more than lightning, rain, and wind. Three things travel in lightning storms: they are Wanderers, dark wizards, and demons. Two of the three are headed for the silo. Can a very pregnant Mia protect the people trapped within? Will Ted, Cid, and Murphy arrive in time to save them?
In Chicago, beyond the velvet rope stands The Eighty-eight, a piano bar owned by Ralph’s friend Dash. He has requested PEEPs help in discovering who is haunting his new bar. So far, a few Irish ghosts have made their presence known, and the only casualties are a few broken bottles of alcohol. Upon PEEPs’ arrival, an entity of unknown origin is discovered. It brings with it a wave of grief so strong that it cannot be ignored. What is this Dark Watcher, and why is it there? Trouble comes in threes, and the supernatural aren’t the only threat for The Eighty-eight and PEEPs. Can they get to the heart of the matter before all is lost?
Meanwhile in Big Bear Lake, the unimaginable has happened. Someone has ghost-napped Edwin, the beloved ghost of the Gifford house, and Bea White, the new owner, wants him back. Tom Braverman steps in to lead the investigation. He hopes that, given enough rope, the kidnappers will reveal themselves, and Edwin will be rescued. But things are never as simple as they seem, and like the nature of rope, the investigation is twisted and full of knots.
“Given Enough Rope” is the 20th book of the “Haunted Series.”

The life of an independent author has its benefits and its perils. One benefit is that I set my own deadlines. The perils happen when life gets in the way, and I don’t make my self-imposed deadlines. I’m sitting down with my editor, and we are actively working on the Haunted Series book #20 “Given Enough Rope.”
In the meanwhile, I promised a few of you that if I didn’t have it out by Thanksgiving, I would have the first chapter read on this website. I was going to read it myself, but the Web Guy stepped in and stopped you from having to listen to my voice. Here is the first chapter of “Given Enough Rope,” written by Alexie Aaron and read to you by Aaron Fitch.

Read MoreUnexpected Visitors
I know quite a few of you have had an unexpected visitor, be it corporeal or paranormal. I guess I fall somewhere in between. I’d like to share with you my very recent paranormal experience. I’m still trying to decide if it was the unexpected visitor or was I? Here’s the background. My hubby and I decided to take a vacation, just the two of us. We didn’t plan on visiting anyone, so we were a bit quiet about where we were going. We decided to stay in the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. Hubby registered in May for our few days in September to make sure we got the Mackinac Suite – it is one of the few with a balcony overlooking the island. At the time, I mentioned that the Grand Hotel is haunted, but to my knowledge, no one had reported any strange goings-on in the suite of rooms we reserved. Boy was I wrong.
Read MoreLabor Day Update!
Can you believe it’s Labor Day already? I’ve had my head in my book for so long that I missed summer. Oh I knew it was happening: my electric bill went up, the window shades went down, and my lawn went from spring-green to summer brown to this wonderful, rain-fed, lush carpet of emerald. In my basement office, PEEPs and I were already at the end of summer. Mia and Murphy were dealing with surprising happenings, both paranormal and human. Yes, PEEPs, the first draft is finished!
Read MoreUpdates & Eternal Maze Out in Paperback!
As some of you may have noticed, I’m not posting every week. This, basically, is because I’m busy writing book #20 Given Enough Rope of the Haunted Series. I become incredibly focused, and it’s hard to break away to ponder much else but PEEPs. So until I have the first draft finished, bear with me for the lateness of any extra communications.
Eternal Maze PEEPs Lite 3.1 is now in paperback! It will retail at $5.95 in the USA, £ 4.51 in the UK, and €5.35 in the European Union.
Read MoreAnimal Casting for Peeps Character!
I couldn’t think of any great additions to the human casting for PEEPs characters, so I’ve cast animals instead. This is a very silly blog post. It lacks logic and any attempt at true research. Enjoy! ~ The Red Pen.
